1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are commonly used to remember preferences, keep you logged in, or track you across sites. Browsers also offer related storage mechanisms such as localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB.
2. Cookies We Set
None. SimpleTextToSpeech.io does not set any first-party cookies. There is no login or account, so there is nothing to remember between visits on the server. Our analytics provider stores its visitor ID in localStorage, not a cookie. See Section 3.

The workspace data lives entirely on your device. The text is only sent to our servers when you deliberately request a free preview or submit the project for paid synthesis; closing the tab without doing either leaves nothing behind. The PostHog visitor ID is sent to our analytics provider on every page view; if your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, the PostHog SDK short-circuits and nothing is collected. You can clear all of this at any time via your browser’s site-data controls.
4. Third-Party Cookies
4.1 Cloudflare (CDN & security)
Our website is served through Cloudflare. To protect the site from automated abuse and DDoS traffic, Cloudflare may set a strictly-necessary cookie called __cf_bm (and, in some cases, _cfuvid) on your browser. These cookies do not identify individual users and are not used for advertising. See Cloudflare’s cookie reference for details.
4.2 Stripe (when you check out)
When you click "Pay & generate", you are redirected to a hosted Stripe Checkout page on Stripe’s domain. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page for fraud prevention and session management; those cookies are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy. We do not embed the Stripe SDK on our own site.
5. What We Don’t Use
To be clear about what we do not do:
- No advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or programmatic-ads tags
- No social media cookies or widgets
- No fingerprinting, supercookies, or cross-site tracking
- No third-party analytics other than PostHog (which is configured cookieless and described in Section 3 above and Section 1.8 of our Privacy Policy)
The PostHog session replay does record mouse movements, scrolls, and clicks on this site, but every form input is masked by default, so the text you type into the workspace, your email at checkout, and any other typed content are not captured.
6. Managing Cookies & Storage
- Block cookies and storage: all major browsers let you block cookies and site data globally or per site. Doing so may break the workspace’s ability to remember your in-progress text on refresh, but the rest of the Service still works.
- Opt out of analytics: enable your browser’s "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. The PostHog SDK respects DNT and short-circuits when it’s set, so no analytics data is collected from your visit.
- Delete data: you can clear cookies,
localStorage,sessionStorage, and other site data at any time from your browser settings. - Private browsing: using private/incognito mode prevents any storage from persisting after you close the window.
Because the only first-party browser storage we use is either strictly necessary or anonymous analytics that respects Do Not Track, we do not show a cookie-consent banner. If we ever change that posture (e.g. to comply with new regulatory guidance), this page will be updated and the previous version will remain accessible via the "Past versions" block at the bottom.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we start using additional cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms as required by law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
Past versions of this policy remain accessible from the "Past versions" block at the bottom of this page so you can see what was in effect on a given date. The same archive treatment is applied to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
